PHOTO - RON BUTLINWith an international reputation as a prize-winning novelist, RON BUTLIN is a former Edinburgh Makar. He was made Edinburgh University’s first Honorary Writing Fellow, together with Ian Rankin.

His work has won many prizes and been translated into over a dozen languages; he has participated in festivals world-wide. The Sound of My Voice has twice been awarded a ‘Best Foreign Novel’ prize, and was included in the highly prestigious Guardian’s 1000 Novels You Have To Read.

His fourth novel, Ghost Moon, appeared last year. This year sees the publication of The Magicians of Scotland (poetry) and Here Come the Trolls! (verse for children). He is currently completing on a new novel and an opera.
